Questions about Say the Same Thing

What is Say the Same Thing?

A word game where two players try to say the same word at the same time. When your words differ, you each look for a word that connects them, and keep going until you match. Here's how it works.

Who made it?

The band OK Go, with the game studio Space Inch. It has been an App Store Editors' Choice.

Is it free?

Yes. Games with friends and the Daily Challenge are free. Premium is an optional monthly or yearly subscription that lets you play as many games with SameBot and random players as you want, and replay your games.

Can I play in a web browser?

Yes. Play Say the Same Thing in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer. It's the same game as the app.

Which devices can I play on?

Web browsers, iPhone and iPad from the App Store, and Android from Google Play. Sign in with Apple or Google to keep your games on every device.

Can I play alone?

Yes. Play against SameBot, get matched with another player, or answer the Daily Challenge.

Do we have to play at the same time?

No. Each of you answers when you're ready. The game waits, then shows both words together.

Can more than two people play?

Yes. Start a group game with your friends.

Is it like Wordle or Codenames?

It's a daily-friendly word game like Wordle, but there's no hidden answer: the right word is whatever you and your partner agree on. Like Codenames, it rewards knowing how the other person thinks.
