How to play Say the Same Thing
Say the Same Thing is a word game from the band OK Go. You win when you and another player say the same word at the same time.
The rules
- You and your partner each say a word, without knowing what the other will pick.
- If the words match, you both win.
- If they don't, look at the two words. Each of you says a new word that connects them: something they have in common, or a bridge between them.
- Keep going, round after round, until you say the same thing.
Say one of you starts with "ocean" and the other with "engine." Next round you might both land on "ship," or you might say "wave" while they say "boat." Getting two minds to meet in the middle is the whole game.
Who you can play with
- Friends. Start a game with one friend or a group. Take your turn when you like; the game waits for everyone. React to answers and chat as you go.
- SameBot. Play against the computer any time.
- Someone new. Get matched with another player.
